Early Storyboards and Actor Search

In our third meeting we looked at some of the early storyboards that we had been working on, as I have no drawing ability I just decided to write some initial ideas. We decided to really concentrate on the two minute character piece and look at what emotion we are trying to create, we all had different ideas what this emotion could be, excitement, joy, desire and love just to name a few. We found it hard to pin point just one emotion. We decided that the emotion should be excitement as this Dylan is excited to go into space and be reunited with his dad.

After we decided what the main emotion was we looked at the storyboards we had create. Valerie had created these brilliant storyboards that really bought the idea to life. We had decided that first two minutes should focus on Dylan creating his suit, covering the box in tin foil and gluing milk buttons onto the suit and not really focus on the idea that his father has died. We will leave little clues with in the set design foreshadowing what’s to happen but we wanted this Two-minute piece all to be about this one character Dylan, his imagination and the suit.

StarNow Casting call "mother"

Our idea of the two-minute piece was really coming together but we still didn’t have an actor to play Dylan we created to add on star now one for the child but also one for the mother. Also well as posting add we decided to get in contact with some local drama groups to see if they could put us in contact with any local child actors. Ellie also contacted her aunty who works with young children to see if she might know anyone interested.
